It’s right there in our name – CHILI. And there will be a lot of it at this year’s Chili Cook-Off – the 41st annual Cook-Off – all brought to you by the Thousand Oaks and Conejo Valley Rotary Clubs.

The Thousand Oaks Chili Cook-Off is one of MANY Chili events as officially sanctioned by the International Chili Society (ICS). And the cooks we have lined up really take their chili seriously. Also taking this seriously is our panel of ICS trained judges. What’s at stake? A local winner can advance to regional, state, national and ultimately the ICS World Championships.

At the Thousand Oaks Chili Cook-Off there are three official ICS entry categories: Red Chili, Chili Verde, and Salsa. Additionally, there are two additional categories that are a bit outside ICS guidelines, we call People’s Choice: For Non-Professionals, and for Restaurants. Add to that is an award for the Best Decorated Booth.

In addition to the obvious bragging rights, there are also CASH awards, ranging from $50 to as high as $1000.

So whether you’re a casual chili fan or your own chili-chef perfectionist, it’s certain your taste buds will be thrilled. Whether it’s mild & flavorful or a ten-alarm fire for your senses, we hope you’re all ready for the 2017 Thousand Oaks Chili Cook-Off.

And just to remind you one more time, it’s all on Sunday, April 30th, 11am-5pm, at Conejo Creek North.
